Prof. Sidat Yaffa

Professor Sidat Yaffa, a Professor of Agronomy and the visionary Founder and CEO of Sare Yaffa Ranch. Born and raised in Sandu Missira Village, Upper River Region, The Gambia. His family roots run deep in The Gambia and the area of agriculture production. He is committed to his community's prosperity and food self-sufficiency drive.

With a distinguished career as the Dean of the School of Agriculture & Environmental Sciences at the University of The Gambia and as the Director of the UTG/WASCAL Doctoral Research Program on Climate Change and Education, Professor Yaffa's expertise in Agronomy and Climate Change research and practice is extensive.

In 2018, fueled by his passion for sustainable agriculture and his love for his homeland, he embarked on a transformative journey, establishing Sare Yaffa Ranch. Named after the Fula tribe's name for a village (Sare), reverence for cattle rearing, and his cherished family name (Yaffa), thus the name Sare Yaffa Ranch. The ranch is more than a business. It's a testament to his dedication to providing healthy, nutritious, and affordable meat protein in the Gambia and beyond.

Driven by his mission to empower communities through sustainable livestock production, Professor Yaffa's vision extends far beyond the ranch's fences. He envisions Sare Yaffa Ranch as a beacon of hope, fostering food security, economic growth, and climate-resilient practices throughout The Gambia and West Africa.
